{recipe} gnocchi with sage butter

I made this for dinner last week and served it with garlic bread.
Since I work full time I didn't have the time to make the gnocchi myself so I bought it at the store already made and added the sauce and cheese to it. I really love gnocchi so I was excited to find a new way to use it in a recipe.

Ingredients:
Gnocchi
Sauce:
3 tablespoons unsalted butter (I added a little more)
1 shallot, minced
1 garlic clove, minced
3 tablespoons chopped fresh sage
1/4 cup minced fresh Italian parsley
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup grated Romano cheese

Directions:
Melt the butter in a medium sauce pan over medium heat.  Add the shallot, garlic, and sage and cook for about 4 minutes until lightly browned.  Add the parsley.  Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Transfer the gnocchi to a serving bowl and top with the sauce and cheese.

Enjoy!

  1. This looks ridiculously good! It most definitely isn't on my diet but I might have to make an exception. There is something so comforting about pasta/gnocchi and that sauce sounds divine.

  3. Gnocchi with homemade meatballs and marinara and alfredo sauce mixed together... Mmmmm. There's a couple commercially made gnocchis that are good and a few that are not good at all. We'll have to try this one some night.
