buffalo chicken pasta salad

This is a family favorite.  You can bring this to any party and it's sure to be a hit!
It's super easy and super yummy!  I could (and do) eat this all summer long!

Ingredients:
Marie's Blue Cheese Salad Dressing (1 whole jar)
Frank's Red Hot Sauce (as much as your taste buds enjoy, I usually do about 3/4 bottle)
{mix these together}
Celery (about 5 stalks)
Red Onion (1 whole one)
Chicken Breast (as much as you want. I usually buy a rotisserie chicken and cut it up)
Noodles - you pick your favorite. Cook as you would normally cook noodles and then flash them with cold water right away to stop the cooking process. I use an entire box of the noodles.
{chop all of these into similar size}
Now, mix everything together!
Add a little salt and pepper to taste.
It's best when it's chilled for a little while.
You can make it as spicy as you want - the more Frank's the spicier.

Enjoy!

  4. This looks yummy, but we are dairy free. Any ideas on replacing the bleu cheese?

    1. Look online for vegan bleu cheese dressings. They are out there. Hopefully you can find one local, but otherwise order it.

      We are dairy and meat free, but I also hate bleu cheese. I was thinking of something to replace it altogether. Ranch maybe?

    2. When I make buffalo chicken dip it calls for bleu cheese and I use ranch. So I'm sure ranch would substitute just fine

    3. Ranch has milk- not dairy free

    4. I have a favorite Dairy free ranch recipe here:

      This is NOT my recipe, I just love it. I'm not vegan, so I use regular mayo. I also use dried parsley. I think I'll try this salad with the dairy free ranch now! sounds soooo tasty!

    5. You could use Kraft Bleu Cheese dry mix - or any other brand - (near the dry ranch mixes) & toss with hot sauce. Would be a LOT less calories!
      Was thinking this might also be great on a pizza shell!

  10. Looks great! But can you tell us how much of each ingredient to use? Mainly the sauce. Don't want to make it too hot!!

    1. She said she uses 3/4 of the bottle of hot sauce, if you don't like hot stuff start with 1/2 the bottle and add more to taste.

  11. Add quartered grape tomatoes, and after you chill it fold in some crumbled blue cheese for an extra kick!

  19. I made this last night with a few tweaks and it was very good! I used whole wheat noodles, a mixture of bleu cheese and ranch and also added a dollop of sour cream. My boyfriend doesn't like spicy food, so I had to go light on the hot sauce but we both enjoyed it :)

  20. This is fantastic, i had buying it our supermarket and it was so expensive. I added blue cheese crumbles as well. The store puts in cherry tomatoes too.

  21. I just tried this- excellent! I used homemade ranch instead of blue cheese, and left out the celery. I got it a little too spicy though, but there's always next time! :)

  28. I'm making this for my family reunion this weekend and was wondering how big of a batch this makes?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Since I'm in Canada and not sure if I can find that brand of dressing, could you specify the size of the jar? And the size of your box of pasta? Mine is in a bag :) thanks!

  30. This looks yummy!! To all the people bitching at others for asking for the amounts...cut it out, get a life. Blue Cheese, ranch, and hot sauce all come in DIFFERENT SIZES. So they are correct in asking...big bottle? little bottle.
